Since 2012, I have been given the honour of being the Best Man to 4 great men, on 4 separate occasions. I can tell you from experience that each wedding and audience has been very different, but I have discovered that the principles of a great Best Man speech remain the same. On each occasion I took my role as Best Man seriously and I wanted to make sure that I didn’t let the Bride and Groom down.
Over the course of drafting 4 Best Man speeches, I have accumulated a large amount of notes which I feel contain the building blocks for a successful Best Man speech. Most importantly I have delivered the speeches, read the room reactions, listened to feedback, and took more notes (over the years I have also listened to many other Best Man speeches in the same regard - and witnessed some super successes and some epic failures).
I know how it feels to be given the daunting task of being a Best Man. However with the correct preparation and material you can put your mind at ease and really enjoy the day. I have finally decided to compile all my notes into what is hopefully a clear and concise Best Man Speech Guidebook that will serve as a one stop shop for any Best Man looking to draft a great speech. I wish you the very best of luck.
